Corus Estates & Vineyards Brings New Winemaker on Board
A Little Piece of Heaven
The story of Zefina first began in 1997 with the earliest plantings
of grapevines along the dry hills high above the Columbia River at Alder
Ridge Vineyard. Situated 15 miles west of the small town of Paterson,
Washington, Alder Ridge is a sprawling 812-acre vineyard set atop a series
of arid, sparsely vegetated ridges that shoot up nearly 1000 feet at
their highest point above the great river below. It’s a little
piece of heaven. The view is breathtaking—the bounty, endless.
The Fruit of Alder Ridge
This hot landscape receives just 2 inches of rain each year, on average,
and it’s precisely this climate and the steep, south-facing slopes
that make Alder Ridge the perfect spot for growing high quality wine grapes

It has long been believed
that fine wines begin in the vineyard. Our winemaker shares this philosophy,
but also knows that careful tending of the wines during fermentation
and aging is necessary to ensure the wines are bottled at their peak.
